The Orbitwheel

New era for skateboard, maybe in the future skateboard is useless, the Orbitwheel is a brand new concept for wheeled sports.

The design is simple: two feet, two wheels... and you're ready to go. The Orbitwheel's concept is basic, but with the wheels whirling around your feet, you are capable of countless tricks and maneuvers that can be as complex and creative as you can come up with.

With the Orbitwheel's minimalistic design, fun and transportation have never been so portable and convenient. The large wheel radius enables you to enjoy the Wheelblazer on a variety of different surfaces. The two thin, light wheels require no folding down or taking apart, making them easy to slip into a backpack or carry in your hand. And when you're ready to get going again, you don't need to fuss with buckles and flaps - just step into the hoops and take off.

The Coolest Bridge

The coolet bridge In Leeuwarden, Netherlands they enjoy the comforts of a robotic overlord controlling a road bridge. It looks less like a bridge than a giant transformer crouching next to the river, holding down a thin spatula of road surface. From the road lines on the bridge arm it looks like cars just drive over the entire surface of the thing. It’s a smart solution for a small bridge, even though its size is a bit ungainly, and they somehow thought painting cute post-modern pastel colors was interesting.

Laptop Case and a Pillow

This is multifunction gadget, The Nap book is a great idea from Icelandic designer Hafsteinn Juliusson. It’s just a standard notebook computer bag/case but its extra thick and fluffy so it can be used as a pillow as well.

Great for those late night study sessions or if you’re working late in the office and want to catch a quick “refresher” nap or to prop your head up against the window on the train ride home. The top flap on the laptop case is well padded, giving you a nice fluffy spot to lay your head for a quick nap. Although the look of this design does border on goofy, the
Practical uses for it make it a bit more appealing.

Coffin car

I know many people who would normally doesn't like to see a coffin butin this case a simple mod shows how an old twin-door coffin can be converted to a fun four wheeler. Of course driving around in one of these always poses the risk of you getting locked inside the “car” in a very obnoxious way but these Coffin Cars have all of the leg room you could ever need, just like a formula 1 car. Gothic culture aside, the idea of modding a coffin into a car isn’t that bad of a concept. It’s the perfect hot rod phallic symbol if you leave the whole morbid nightmares behind.

The Parajet Skycar

The Parajet Skycar will be the first carbon neutral flying car in the world. The Parajet Skycar betweens a dune buggy and a paraglider. The Parajet Skycar powered by a biodiesel-modified Yamaha R1 1000cc motorcycle engine. The motor runs through a Continuously Variable Transmission either to power the rear wheels or to turn a large rear-facing propeller via a belt drive. It's capable of take-off from a field or airstrip in less than 200 metres.

Should the engine fail, the pilot would simply glide down into the nearest field or strip of sandy desert. In the event of catastrophic wing failure, car connection system failure or mid-air collision, an emergency ballistic reserve parachute can be deployed. The prototype is expected to cost only UK£35,000, Cool!

Ionic Smokeless Ashtray

Tired of your house smelling like smoke? Well then suck it up with this ashtray. It was specifically designed to suck that smoke into the dome and dispose of it. It does so by, breaking down the smoke into negatively-charged particles, which are then “captured by the positively-charged stainless steel lining of the dome.” I’m a little skeptical as to how it works and if it will actually stop the smell from getting into your home. After all, your cigarette doesn’t stay in the ashtray. At some point you have to take it out to smoke it.

I’m sure this would work fairly well for someone that doesn’t smoke that often anyway. However, anyone with chain smoker tendencies likely won’t smell much of a change. Then again, once you’re to the chain smoking point, usually your sense of smell isn’t that grand anyway. It does come with the glass ashtray you see in the picture as well as an AC adapter. It uses 4 AA batteries, I’m guessing for when it’s not plugged in. The ashtray is being sold for $19.99, which is cheap enough that it’s worth a shot.

France planning to 'triple' CCTV surveillance capacity

At least those residing in the UK can breathe a momentary sigh of relief, as it's not the only locale where the amount of surveillance drones is quickly approaching the number of citizens. Reportedly, French interior minister Michele Alliot-Marie recently announced that the government is planning to "triple" the existing CCTV surveillance capacities across the country, "with a view to curb the risks of terrorism and acts of violence." Beyond just bumping the amount of eyes scanning for troublemakers, she also suggested that the network of systems be more tightly connected in order to effectively "protect the French people and enable them to move freely without fearing for their lives or property." Of course, we're sure there's quite a few citizens who'd have beef with the whole "moving freely sans fear" tidbit, no?
